Strawberry Lohengrin

I've been exploring painting things that are white, or mostly white. It's not easy. I've done a few white flowers but I haven't been totally satisfied with any of them. (Some of them will never see the light of day.) It's the color of the shadows that is difficult, because they are not gray, but the color is very hard to discern. Even so, I had some fun with this.

You did such a great job on this! White is so hard but you seem to have it mastered. The faint touches of red reflection are wonderful. Very very subtle...which they would be on that opaque white. Love the delicate subject and the beautiful bright red berries. You are so right about the shadows. Keeping them warm really worked on this one!

This is just beautiful. I think you handled a white subject very well, and I love the color that the strawberries bring to the painting.

Great job on the whites. I find they can be almost any pastel. This one really works.

Nice one!
I like doing (when appropriate) a bluish-purple for white shadows.
