A Good Time Was Had by Al

This is a painting I did a while ago. It's my brother-in-law from a photo I took when he visited us for Jazz Fest. I didn't have time to paint today, and tomorrow I have choir practice, and Tuesday I will be packing all my art stuff in my car. Because on Wednesday I drive to Salado, Texas for a workshop with Carol Marine. YEAH!!! I'm so excited. Now you know why I won't be posting for a few days. But I plan to post some from the workshop. So look for them.

How lucky are you!!! I'm very envious that you get to spend the day with Carol Marine. Her work is marvelous but so is YOURS! I love the jovial expression and the hand is rendered perfectly. Don't you love a man who is secure enough with his manhood to wear purple?

Hilarious title and fabulous portrait. I tried to leave this comment before; sorry if this is a repeat.

This is really great! It's colorful, narrative, jovial, and very well done. I do love a good portrait that tells more than just what your subject looks like. I am working on that myself...not quite there yet.
