We Don't Need Forks, Sold

When I was a girl, the way I ate watermelon didn't include a fork. There are numerous family photos of me with a large, mostly eaten slice of watermelon and a big grin. Needless to say this was a messy business. Afterwards, my mother would croon, "Come to me my melon cruddy baby."
And now you know where I got my penchant for puns.

I loooove this, and I love watermelon, like you do! Love the reflective surface of the fork, the glass dish with the fabric coming through... and the luscious fruit. Fantastic.

Laughed out loud at the quote from your Mother. :)
Another strong composition! The red of the watermelon is so perfect and I love the fabric showing through the plate. Really great job on that glass. You are on fire with this series!

Because of your last watermelon painting, I went & bought some. Guess I'm heading back tomorrow. You make the most mouthwatering watermelon paintings.

Nice and juicy! And ditto for everything that Kelley wrote - for so true.
Carolyn do you knock on the melon to select?

I love series and this one is a nice series.
I love the way you work the glass and the stripes.
The red and tourqoise are a winning combo.

Looks like a 4th of July painting. You should repost this in a few weeks. Great composition and color.

The first thing I thought of was 4th of July, also! The colors, composition, paint application...everything makes this wonderful.

This is FABULOUS! I love the squarish edges, the brightly coloured tablecloth and glistening surface. For me it has summer in Cyprus written all over it, very evocative...

This is sensational! The colors are as yummy as the watermelon, and I love the stripes showing through the glass (wonderful glass by the way). It really all comes together beautifully.
