Tea Fan Club

I painted this for my gallery's group show with a fan theme. I wasn't very excited with the setup, but by the time I had finished it, I really liked it. That has happened to me a few times before. I think it's the brushwork that either makes it or breaks it. Exaggerate a few colors and values and get some really good brushwork and something ordinary becomes beautiful.

Very nice one Carolyn. Makes me think of that movie "The Joy Luck Club."

The fan reads very well and has some beautiful brush work in it. I can see why this one grew on you!

I really like the teapot and the view from above the table, as if you're about to sit down for the tea.

A unique vantage point for this still life makes for a fantastic painting, Carolyn. I love your choice of colors, and your fluid brushwork.
